Suzanne Bachman is an MS Navigator at the National MS Society. She is a non-practicing disability rights attorney. Suzanne worked with Arlene Mayerson, directing attorney at Disability Rights Education and Legal Defense Fund (DREDF) on a DOJ funded comprehensive three-volume treatise, ADA: Americans with Disabilities Act Annotated-Legislative History, Regulations & Commentary (1994). Suzanne successfully advocated for her mother, who lived with MS for 50 years, 10 years of continuous Medicare home health aide assistance at the maximum level of 35 hours per week. This assistance enabled Suzanne to establish an innovative approach to disability and health care legal consultancy services out of her mother’s home making the vision of community integration possible for her mother in line with her ADA work.
