Center for Medicare Advocacy Founder's Circle

CMA Founder & Senior Advisor Judy Stein testifies at the Senate Committee on Finance hearing “Aging in Place: The Vital Role of Home Health in Access to Care.”

Individuals who contribute $1,000+ join the Center for Medicare Advocacy’s visionary founder, Judy Stein and others as part of the Founder’s Circle to help build the long-term sustainability of CMA and its education, advocacy, policy initiatives, and strategic litigation on behalf of older adults and people with disabilities.

Founder’s Circle members recognize the importance of CMA’s unique advocacy and education model and its role in keeping Medicare strong and responsive to the needs of families all over the country. This is especially important in these unprecedented times, when the very future of Medicare is in jeopardy.

Founder’s Circle members are invited to an annual small group virtual meeting with Judy Stein and other CMA leaders, who provide updates about our work. These meetings, called Founder’s Circle Forums, are also opportunities to exchange ideas and ask questions of CMA Staff. Founder’s Circle members are listed in CMA’s Annual Impact Report and recognized during CMA’s annual special event, the National Voices of Medicare Summit and Sen. Jay Rockefeller Lecture.

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) are investment accounts for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations today. This tool automatically links with your DAF, allows you to recommend how you’d like your gift to be used and notifies CMA of your intentions. Using the link below to grant from your DAF also saves us a lot of time, so thank you! It’s a great way to ensure consistent financial support while saving cash for immediate needs.

__________

Qualified Charitable Distribution via IRA

What is a Qualified Charitable Distribution or QCD?

Use QCD’s to manage your required minimum distributions from your IRA (Individual Retirement Account). A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 701/2 years old or older to donate up to $105,000 total to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions. As a result, donors may avoid being pushed into higher income tax brackets and prevent phaseouts of other tax deductions.

QCDs are an excellent opportunity to make a gift to the Center for Medicare Advocacy and optimize the tax benefits of giving. By using the link below to give from your IRA, you can auto-complete your paperwork, and we can track your gift to send you the proper tax receipts.

__________

Stocks & Other Securities

Donating stocks allows you to avoid capital gains tax and often take a charitable deduction for the full value of the asset. Use our free tool to donate stock so we can track your gift, send you the correct receipt, and ensure you can get the tax savings you deserve. If you would prefer to make your donation through your broker, access our transfer information from the link below to notify CMA of your gift.

Cryptocurrency

We now accept donations of Ethereum, Bitcoin, and other cryptocurrencies! This gives us one more way to fund our work and can provide you with extra tax benefits.
