The Center for Medicare Advocacy celebrates Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati’s well-deserved honor as a “Pro Bono Innovator.” This week Bloomberg Law highlighted the firm’s work with the Center and co-counsel Justice in Aging on the nationwide class action that established appeal rights for Medicare beneficiaries whose hospitalizations are reclassified from “inpatient” to “observation status.” The case recognized important due process principles and will help thousands of beneficiaries access necessary health care. The Center agrees that “heart, empathy, and support” were key to the team’s success!
Wilson Sonsini was also honored earlier this year as a recipient of the American Bar Association’s 2022 Pro Bono Publico Award. A video for the event features the observation status appeal case.
The Center is grateful for Wilson Sonsini’s extraordinary commitment to health care justice and for expanding our capacity to litigate on behalf of Medicare beneficiaries.
