Thank you for thinking of supporting the Center for Medicare Advocacy again – and if this is your first time here, welcome to CMA’s community of Bridgemakers!
Who are CMA’s Bridgemakers?
We are staff and volunteers from local and national health care organizations. We are advocates, and attorneys. We are currently enrolled in Medicare or we will be in the future. We are family, friends, and caregivers. We are health care providers, doctors, nurses, researchers, policymakers, and everyone searching to create a better health care system now, and for the future.
The Center for Medicare Advocacy is more resolute than ever in our non-partisan mission to advance access to comprehensive Medicare coverage, health equity, and quality health care for older adults and people with disabilities.
Here’s how your donation makes an impact with CMA:
- Helping those enrolled in Medicare RIGHT NOW to navigate the puzzling maze of the Medicare program and obtain the necessary care that they need
- Educating through our popular free live webinars and weekly newsletter, the CMA Alert, on topics such as Enrollment, Medicare 101, and Nursing Home Reform
- Breaking down barriers to care that Medicare beneficiaries face, particularly those with chronic conditions
- Advocating for stronger consumer protections and oversight of Medicare Advantage plans, and educating on the dangers of an increasingly privatized Medicare program
- Working with policymakers with whom we agree on particular issues, regardless of political party
- Litigating, when necessary, to protect and improve Medicare for those in need
Over 66 million Medicare beneficiaries deserve no less.
The unwavering advocacy that CMA provides for a strong traditional Medicare program needs your support now more than ever, as proponents of privatization gain more influence. Please support the Center for Medicare Advocacy today and join CMA’s Bridgemakers!
Individuals who contribute $1,000 and above become part of the Founder’s Circle joining CMA’s visionary founder, Judy Stein, and others in major gift support for our work to help older adults and people with disabilities obtain vital health care. Qualified Charitable Distribution via IRA
What is a Qualified Charitable Distribution or QCD?
Use QCD’s to manage your required minimum distributions from your IRA (Individual Retirement Account).
A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate up to $105,000 total to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions. As a result, donors may avoid being pushed into higher income tax brackets and prevent phaseouts of other tax deductions.
QCD’s are an excellent opportunity to make a gift to the Center for Medicare Advocacy and optimize the tax benefits of giving. Find out more info about QCD’s in the links below.
