Q: What is the National Voices of Medicare Summit?
A: In 2014, the Center for Medicare Advocacy Founder and Executive Director, Judith Stein, created the National Voices of Medicare Summit to present a multifaceted program known for its beneficiary-focused content, the first national conference of its kind. The Summit is widely renowned as a convening of community leaders in advocacy, policy-making, philanthropy, and academia to discuss the best practices, solutions, and opportunities in efforts to advance access to comprehensive Medicare, health equity, and quality health care. All of this is inspired by, and interspersed with, the real experiences and stories of beneficiaries and caretakers.
Past Summits have featured luminaries such as Representatives Rosa DeLauro, Joe Courtney, and Debbie Dingell; health care and elder justice champions Alfred Chiplin, Nancy-Ann DeParle, Sarita Gupta, Cathy Hurwit, Chris Jennings, Khelan Bhatia, Philip Marshall, Topher Spiro, and Ben Wikler; former CMS Administrator Bruce Vladeck, and Medicare Directors Jonathan Blum and Sean Cavanaugh.

Q: What is the Senator Jay Rockefeller Lecture?
A: Named in honor Senator Jay Rockefeller in recognition of his years of public service, the Rockefeller Lecture has been the centerpiece of the National Voices of Medicare Summit since its inception. Sen. Rockefeller gave the first Lecture and has participated every year since. The lecture provides an opportunity to hear directly from a leading voice in public service with a demonstrated commitment to advancing access to equitable health care and civil rights. Representative John Lewis, Judith Feder, Tamera Luzzatto, Wendell Potter, and Senators Sherrod Brown and Chris Murphy have been Rockefeller Lecturers.
Q: Who should attend the National Voices of Medicare Summit & Senator Jay Rockefeller Lecture?
A: Staff and volunteers from local and national health care organizations, advocates, attorneys, leadership, beneficiaries, caregivers, health care providers, researchers, policymakers, media, and anyone looking to discuss best practices, solutions, and opportunities to improve the quality of life for members of their community.

Q. Are Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits available?
A. This course has been approved for a maximum of 2.3 hours’ credit by the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Commission of Alabama.
It is our understanding that by meeting the CLE standards of the state of Alabama, the Summit will likely also meet the standards in most other states.
A CLE survey will be sent to all attendees after the Summit. We will provide participants who complete this CLE Survey with a packet of materials they can use when applying for CLE credits in other states.
