The Center for Medicare Advocacy mourns the loss of Diane F. Paulson, who died on August 2, 2025, at the age of 87. Diane’s dedication to Medicare advocacy and social justice left an indelible mark on countless lives.
As the longtime leader of the Massachusetts Medicare Advocacy Project at Greater Boston Legal Services, Diane was among the earliest and most zealous advocates for Medicare beneficiaries. Her legal expertise and unwavering advocacy helped protect the rights and health of older adults and people with disabilities. She understood that Medicare is a lifeline for millions, and she fought for its beneficiaries—her clients—with professional skill and personal conviction.
Diane was not only a formidable advocate but also a wonderful colleague. Her warmth, intellect, and mentorship inspired many others in the field of Medicare advocacy. She brought sharp legal acumen, moxie, and compassion to her work, embodying many of the values that drive our mission at the Center. We are grateful for Diane’s years of service to the Medicare advocacy community and for the lasting impact of her work.
