From October 15 through December 7, 2022, Medicare beneficiaries can review how they receive their Medicare coverage for 2023. They should do so!
Whether they are in traditional Medicare with a Part D prescription drug plan, or enrolled in a private Medicare Advantage plan, all beneficiaries should make sure that the options available to them will meet their needs in the coming year.
For example: If they are now in a Medicare Advantage plan, will their doctors, other health care providers, hospitals, and health care institutions be in their plan next year? Will their medications be included in their drug plan – whether in Medicare Advantage or in Part D? These things can and do change every year. So all Medicare beneficiaries should check.
For help doing so, contact the State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) in the beneficiary’s state. You can find your state SHIP program at https://www.shiphelp.org/.
