As Kimberly Marselas reported last month in this article in McKnight’s Long -Term Care News, Oklahoma’s recent Executive Order “may go further than any other state initiative to rein in practices largely seen as unfavorable to both beneficiaries and providers.” The Governor orders plans to comply with state “prompt-pay” statues, blocks new prior authorization requirements & other provisions more restrictive than traditional Medicare, and forbade denials of payment when “medical necessity” is documented.
