Louise Corcoran is an attorney based in the Center for Medicare Advocacy’s Connecticut office. She provides legal assistance on Medicare appeals, focusing on issues related to low-income and dually eligible Medicare beneficiaries and due process. Ms. Corcoran began her career working in hospital statistics at Baystate Medical Center and, after obtaining her Master’s in Business Administration, worked at Holyoke Hospital as an administrator overseeing finance and reimbursement for the hospital and affiliated medical practices. During this time, she developed a deep interest in the need for affordable and accessible heath care for all. After working in Financial Services at John Hancock and Sun Life Financial, Ms. Corcoran decided to fulfill a lifelong goal of obtaining her law degree, concentrating in public interest. She interned at Community Legal Aid in Northampton MA where she assisted veterans in petitioning to the Department of Defense for benefit reinstatements.
Ms. Corcoran received her JD cum laude from Western New England University School of Law in Springfield MA in 2022. Ms. Corcoran is an adjunct faculty member at Springfield Technical Community College where she teaches Law and Ethics in Healthcare. She is a member of the Massachusetts and Connecticut Bar.
