This week Sen. Sanders and Rep. Doggett introduced bicameral legislation to expand access to dental, hearing and vision care in Medicare. CMA has long called for a comprehensive dental benefit to be added to Part B of Traditional Medicare. There is dire need for oral health coverage in Medicare. Oral health care has been separated from overall health care for older adults and people with disabilities who rely on Medicare, resulting in adverse health consequences. CMA supports this legislation and looks forward to working with members of Congress on a robust and comprehensive dental benefit in Part B of Medicare, available to all Medicare beneficiaries, and integrated with the delivery of other health care benefits.
