Patricia Neuman, Sc.D. is a senior vice president of KFF, Executive Director of KFF’s Program on Medicare Policy, and senior advisor to the KFF President. Dr. Neuman is a nationally recognized Medicare policy expert, with extensive knowledge of issues associated with coverage, affordability, spending and financing, care of older Americans and people with disabilities, and proposals to sustain Medicare for the future. Dr. Neuman has testified before numerous Congressional committees, and has published extensively on health coverage, retirement security, and challenges facing Medicare’s future. She is often called upon as an independent Medicare expert and quoted in leading national print, broadcast, and online media outlets.
Dr. Neuman previously served on the professional staff of the Committee on Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health in the House of Representatives, and on the staff of the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging. She is a member of the National Academy of Social Insurance. Dr. Neuman received a doctorate in health policy and management and a masters in health finance and management from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.
