Sophia Colley is a CNA at a nursing home in Titusville, Florida. She was born in Jamaica and started working in healthcare soon after arriving in the United States in 1989. She is an active MPO, delegate and spokesperson for 1199SEIU Florida. She has testified before the Florida Legislature Healthcare Committee, served as an expert panelist at the Silver Solutions Coalition Summit, and has advocated for healthcare and union worker needs at numerous other roundtables, conventions and events. She had an adult daughter die in 2013 of sickle cell anemia that she partially attributes to a lack of affordable healthcare, and has another daughter who is a paramedic.
