Matthew Shepard came to the Center for Medicare Advocacy in 1996, seeking something temporary while he pursued his Connecticut Teaching certification. Expecting a short-term, uninvolved job, Matt found, upon getting to know his fellow staff and the work of the Center, that he had no desire to leave. He has since moved from general office assistance to coordinating all the Center’s written and electronic communications, website, podcasts, newsletters, webinars, and weekly e-Alerts. Matt works with the Development Director on fundraising and outreach, and as part of the Center’s Leadership team he assists the Co-Directors as needed, while acting as coordinator for the Center’s CT office.
Matt graduated from Tufts University with a BA in English. He immediately re-enrolled and graduated in with an additional MA in teaching.
