On January 27, 2025 the Center for Medicare Advocacy submitted comments to CMS on the proposed rule for Medicare Advantage and Part D for 2026.

If finalized, the provisions in the proposed rule will significantly improve consumer protections in a number of areas, including:
- Improving the administration of supplemental benefits coverage through debit cards, including proposals on plan marketing of the cards
- Improving experiences and coordination of care for dually eligible beneficiaries
- Expanding agent/broker requirements re: topics that must be covered with prospective MA plan enrollees prior to enrollment
- Clarifications re: MA appeals in hospital settings and guardrails for MA plans’ use of AI
- Expanding Part D coverage of anti-obesity drugs
- Enhancing Access to Behavioral Health Services in MA Plans
