"Amicus Curiae" translates to "Friend of the Court."  An Amicus brief is the nonpartisan action of a non-party to aid the court in understanding the case.  In practice, these briefs are often filed as a friend of one of the parties.  The following are cases in which the Center for Medicare Advocacy has acted as a "Friend of the Court".
